this was my first trip to Montréal, and this city has been on my list for years.
people loooove Montréal.
I've heard it called the Paris of North America, I've heard endless raves about the food, and since I was traveling with foodie friends, I knew at least one thing for certain:
we were going to eat very well.
the deets » Four days. Three nights.
walking around. eating. exploring. of course coffee & pasteries, dinner, probably more eating. and whatever else we stumbled into along the way.
now the pack
we're still in summer, so I'm not quite ready to start dressing for fall yet. But if you're looking ahead to that first stretch of cooler days (lower -mid 60’s. that’s cooler for me lol!!). this is exactly the kind of wardrobe I'd want.
I would simply add “sleeves”, a jkt of some sort (track, blazer, cardi) or layer over a long slv, fun socks, swap out a strappy sandal for a boot…violá, summer into fall!

and about that accidental capsule...
this is one of my favorite things about packing for a trip.
you don't always know what you've created until you start wearing it.
you pull the things you're excited about, add a few “just in case” & fave forgotten pieces, make sure you've got the shoes covered, and then somewhere along the way you realize that half your suitcase goes with everything else.
the pieces worked for Montréal, but they also happen to make a really good early-fall wardrobe.
not fall fashion.
not a “fall capsule” that requires buying new things.
just a bunch of good clothes that can start doing more work once the temperature drops a little.
and honestly?
that's my favorite kind of wardrobe.
the one you didn't even realize you built.
