chic caffeine : BITTERSWEET, pilsen

Exploring one of the best Chicago coffee spots with outfit inspiration and lifestyle blogger perspective

Bittersweet in Pilsen is one of those spots that instantly feels like it’s in motion — not loud or chaotic, but alive in a way that makes these afternoons feel purposeful. From the moment you step in, the sunlight spilling through the windows hits the warm wood tones and the minimal yet thoughtful decor just right.

I was especially excited for their pastries — Bittersweet is known for their cakes, and honestly, it’s hard to pick just one. I noticed people ordering three or four at a time, and I can see why…ube croissants, sour cherry clafoutis (?!), apricot scones. you want to try them all cause, I mean who esle is serving these flavor profiles??

The coffee (and matcha!) is excellent (naturally), and the staff are kind and patience (there’s a lot to choose from!), which makes all the difference in the rhythm of the space. People come here to work, chat, and enjoy the (pastry) moment, and it shows.

And of course, I had to capture the day’s fit: the outfit that kept me stylish while I werked, sipped, and snapped a few pics. (scroll down to see how I styled it for a day at this Pilsen favorite.)

FIT CHK » Fri, 2:30pm, 70 degrees! (no joke) werking at Bittersweet, Pilsen

WHAT WAS I THINKING » this morning I knew I wanted to wear my wide leg cargos & clogs (it’s Friday, it’s Pilsen! my S.O. is in town 🖤)…so just needed a top. this doori cashmere sweater just came back from the cleaners and this guy is cozy for a fall day (truly amazing cashmere quality, never pills and the design is primo!!). i also knew i would be throwing on my camo coat & dig the color & design with it. i didn’t realize it was going to get up to 70+ that day, but still fit was perfect w/o my coat. it was pretty easy this morning, it all flowed 🖤.
