a SHIFT in how I CARRY my day
I honestly never thought my relationship with my Fjällräven backpack would shift the way it has. It’s not over — I still reach for it when I travel or when it makes sense — but for the day-to-day, working out of coffee shops and other creative, cultural spaces, something’s changed. As a wardrobe stylist, I’ve always been the person carrying / rolling lots of bags, so I am always looking for ease. A backpack fits that life. Khaki, utilitarian, quietly fashion. That chapter started around 2016, and looking back, it feels like a full cycle.
is CHECKERBOARD my new CAMO?
Lately, I’ve been treating checkerboard the way I’ve always treated camo — as a grounding print that plays well with everything else. It’s fun to wear, a little unexpected, and honestly pretty unique. I don’t see it out and about much, especially in my age group, which makes it even more appealing. I love the graphicness of the pattern — it’s quietly bold and has become a real go-to for me this fall. Sharing a few fits with Ms. Checkerboard here.
